The word Kilim originates from the Turkish language and it means 'flatweave'. Kilims are produced by tightly interweaving the warp and weft strands of the weave to produce a flat surface with no pile.
Since ancient
times, kilims have been produced in areas that include parts of Turkey, North Africa, the Balkans, the
Caucasus, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Central Asia. Natural dyes are used in this beautiful
tapestry technique and motifs vary greatly from fertility to protection.
Kilims rugs are
unique, easy-to-care-for and invigorate any space.
